Space Science for Teachers is a week long training class for K - 12 teachers that has been held at SC State University since 2001. This training seccession is supported by a grant from NASA's Office of Space Science, the Midlands Mathematics and Science Regional Center (Bamberg-Calhoun-Orangeburg Site) and SCSU's Center for NASA Research & Technology. Its primary purpose is to enhance Space Science capabilities in education, research and outreach at underserved K - 12 schools by providing training and workshops for in-service teachers.
This year's instructors were: Dr. Jennifer Cash, SCSU Dept. of Biological and Physical Sciences; Dr. Linda Payne, Midlands Mathematics and Science Regional Center; and Ms. Sandra Watts, Carver-Edisto Middle School.
