On a crisp Monday evening, some 100 SCSU students and faculty gathered to observe the Moon and the planets Jupiter and Venus with telescopes and binoculars on the Student Center Plaza. Astronomers from the Department of Biological & Physical Sciences, Drs. Cash, Smith and Walter; and two astronomy majors, Graham Davis and Jared Lalmansingh were on hand to assit in the observation session and to answer questions.
This event is part of a recent $2 million award from the National Science Foundation to enhance astronomy at SC State entitled "A Partnership in Observational and Computational Astronomy."
